Thanks for visiting – my name is Jon Whittington….but have adopted ‘jkstraw’ or ‘jack straw’ as a stage name as it is decidedly more rock ‘n roll friendly

I have been playing acoustic guitar for about 15 years and have recently been heading in to the amplified world. I have found most of my success as a vocalist or one-man/one-guitar performer. In any case I just really dig playing good music.

I first got the idea of getting serious about marketing myself after posting some youtube videos and getting a terrific response from a very kind community. I have even had the odd nibble from the ‘biz’ but nothing that has worked out…..still from my perspective as of this writing I have over 225 000 views!! Jeeezz – I can tell you that blows away a guy that is just about as far away from San Fransisco as you can get in North America.

Regardless of how it all works out…I’ll just keep on truckin’ – playing the music is what it is really all about. I have decent job and a great family so making music for a living is just a worthwhile dream I can afford to chase until I can’t play anymore
